Abstract:Optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to study the morphology features, structure, surficial properties and mineralogical composition of the thermomagnetic components, and chemical analysis was applied to discuss the enrichment and the mechanism of the adsorption of the effective indicator elements. The correlative analysis between Fe-Mn oxides and mineralized indicator elements of soil, soil thermomagnetic components and nonmagnetic components confirms the enrichment of thermomagnetic components, which provides the theoretic basis for soil thermomagnetic survey. Comparative tests indicate that soil thermomagnetic survey is more powerful than conventional soil survey in detecting weak mineral information caused by deep ore deposits.
