Abstract This paper deals in detail with a new type electric refrigeration semiconductor detector for detecting X-ray as well as its application to X-ray spectral analysis. By means of electric refrigeration used in the detector, the trouble of adding liquid nitrogen to traditional Si(Li) semiconductor detector can be removed.
