Abstract The geophysical technology combining transient electromagnetic method and high density electric method was adopted to make exploration in goaf and collapse areas of shallow small coal pits in Mentougou District of Beijing. Well positions were arranged according to geophysical exploration results, and drilling verification of anomaly areas and normal areas was conducted, which proved the effectiveness of the technology.
