Abstract The application of nuclear magnetic resonance to direct water exporation is a new technique.The present paper deals with the principle and instrumental equipment of this technique and,with the test result of NUMISsystem in a certain area of Henan Province as an example,illustrates the availability of this technique in water exploration.
