SATELLITE GRAVITY STUDY ON SOUTH CHINA SEA
Wang Maoji, Song Zhengfan, Yin Chunxia
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 329-335,328.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (338KB) ( 852 )

The sea surface heights determined by satellite radar altimetry are easily converted into gravity anomalies. Satellite altimetric data from closely spaced Geodetic Missions of both GEOSATand ERS-1 were combined to achieve the highest resolution gravity coverage over the South China Sea region. Many interesting and previously uncharted features are revealed in this new gravity map including spreading ridge, transform faults, elastic plate thick ness of lithosphere, behaviors of continental margins, and new sedimentary basins.

SAPARATION,RECOGNITION AND ABSTRACTION OF SHALLOW SEISMIC MULTIWAVES
Bao Junqing, Zhang Xueqiang, Liu Jiangping, Zhou Hongqiu
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 336-342.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (805KB) ( 1133 )

The present paper describes theτ-p transformation,t he“adjustable t hreshold value”and“target cir-cling”techniques,which are utilized in processing shallow seismic prospecting data to abstract Rayleigh waves,re-flected p-waves and refracted p-waves simultaneously. Results of calculation for models indicate that these techniques can be satisfactorily employed for multiwave prospecting as well as for conventional single-type-wave prospecting.

    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 348-353.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (255KB) ( 1377 )

This paper describes briefly the Rough Set(RS) theory, a new theory in intelligent data processing, discusses the method of decision analysis based on RS, advances an optimization idea and method for continuous attributes discretization, and probes into the problem of geochemical sample classification with this method.

A NEW METHOD FOR ACQUIRING THE IMPEDANCE INITIAL VALUE ——IMPEDANCE SCANNING BY LOGGING CONSTRAINED
    Zhang Yufen
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 354-359.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (276KB) ( 730 )

Impedance inversion is an important method in processing seismic lithologic inversion. The key of the inversion lies in the demarcation of the high-precision reflection coefficient amplitude and the acquisition of high-precision impedance initial value. In processing impedance inversion, the choice of impedance initial value is very important, because different impedance values will be acquired when different impedance initial values are used, and this will affect the precision of lithologic interpretation precision. In this paper the author first advances the impedance scanning technique and proves it to be a method for acquiring higher precision impedance initial value by logs data and seismic data inversion result. The coincidance ratio of impedance initial value obtained by using impedance scanning to impedance initial value of the logs is about 99%.The impedance scanning technique provides a practical way and lays a foundation for high precision impedance and seismic lithologic inversion.

REGIONAL GEOCHEMICAL SURVEY OF Pt,Pd AND Au IN THE WESTERN BUSHVELD COMPLEX,SOUTH AFRICA
Zhang Hong, Chen Fanglun, D. De Bruin
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 360-370,359.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (490KB) ( 1372 )

Regional geochemical survey for Pt,Pd and Au in the western Bushveld Complex,South Africa, has been under way for a number of years using Pt,Pd and Au analyses of the stream sediment and residual soil samples from Rustenburg area. The exploraion has led to the discovery of many unknown platinum mineralisation horizons in Bushveld Complex. It is worth while to note that at the boundary between the Main and Upper Zone a new Pt,Pd and Au anomalous zone has been discovered.

EGMA SYSTEM AND ITS APPLYING EFFECTS:THE LOCATING PROGNOSIS OF ORE-PROSPECTING TARGETS
    Du Peixuan
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 371-378.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (406KB) ( 700 )

Using regional geochemical exploration data, the authors figured out moving window contrast values through window moving average operation, delineated single-element anomalies and multi-element accumulative (multiplicative) anomalies according to contrast values, and drew single element and multi-element background diagrams, accumulative (multiplicative) multi-element contrast anomalies and background diagrams, which make up the locating prognostic chart for the ore-prospecting target. The effects of its application in Xinjiang and a certain ore belt in Qinba area are described in this paper.

EVALUATION OF PROSPECTING POTENTIAL IN SUNJIAZHUANG INTERMEDIATE-ACID COMPLEX BODY AND NEIGHBORING AREAS, SHANXI PROVINCE
Yu Xuedong, Li Yinggui, Yang Shaoping, Ren Tianxiang
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 379-383.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (233KB) ( 708 )

Based on “planar” rock survey and “multi daughter sample” sectional rock survey, the authors conducted evaluating of prospecting potential for Sunjiazhuang intermediate acid complex body and made follow-up survey for mineralization in neighboring areas. The main indicator elements and associated elements were determined, and the Cu-dominant multi-element composite anomaly from porphyry mineralizastion was delineated, with porphyry mineralization discovered at the concentration center of the Cu anomaly. Around Sunjiazhuang complex body there exists a zonal distribution pattern of porphyry mineralization contact metasomatic mineralization hydrothermal polymetalic mineralization.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TARIM PLATFORM AND THE NORTH CHINA PLATFORM
    Zhang Zhenfa
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 384-393,383.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (849KB) ( 1020 )

Integrated geologic, seismic sounding, gravity and magnetic field and paleomagnetic studies show that the Alxa Dunhuang landmass is a rigid block with a complete, unified Precambrian crystalline basement.Bordered by Ruoqiang-Xingxingxia fault on the west and Helan Mountain on the east, and wedging itself beneath Qinghai-Tibet plateau on the south and Xingmeng Paleozoic fold system on the north,it occupies a rather large area(91°E~106°E,38°N~42°N).Being an important component part of the North China platform, the Alxa-Dunhuang landmass not only hindered the northward transmission of compressive principal stress of the Indian plate but also caused the close connection of the Tarim platform with the North China platform to form the greater Chinese platform.

THE FIELD OF THE CONDUCTING HORIZONTAL CYLINDER IN THE PRESENCE OF MAGNETIC DIPOLE
    Fu Yongming, Tian Xianmo
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1998, 22 (5): 394-400,378.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (357KB) ( 555 )

In this paper, the field of magnetic dipole in the conducting horizontal cylinder is decomposed into 1stdegree field and 2nd degree field of single magnetic pole, field inside the cylinder and field outside the cylinder. Then the fields of the two single magnetic poles are superimposed upon each other to form the field of magnetic dipole. With programs compiled, the 2nd degree magnetic fields of imaginary and real components of the frequency response function for the general field are calculated separately.
