Abstract Groundpenetrating radar technology was used to identify the distance of external cooling
pipes from the wall in the process of shaft wall construction so as to provide reliable data basis and
ensure the effectiveness of cooling pipes, thus preventing wall rock falling and water leakage. Data
were collected along the wall layout line and profiling was used for detection. The detection result was
shown by gray rings so that the result will be well in line with the actual situation. The results obtained
by the authors provide an effective reference for other imaging technology employed in an irregular
working environment.
