Abstract The Deerbuer PbZn deposit is located in a forest and swamp area. Element geochemistry of soil in the low temperature and rich organic matter environment was studied. It is shown that element geochemistry is influenced by rock, soil granularity, ironmanganese oxides, organic matter and acid precipitation, and that modes of occurrence of elements in eluvial and humus layers are mainly ironmanganese oxides which play a significant role in element enrichment. The adsorption of organic matter is affected by soil granularity, horizon, and organic matter content.
