Abstract The underground disastrous hidden cracks constitute a deformation hazard. Based on a case study, the author summed up the basic characteristics of underground cracks in radar images and, on such a basis, analyzed the detection mechanism and GPR images of such structural cracks as the uneven settlement cracks and the medium dislocation cracks in ground floor, the landslidetrending cracks and the collapse cracks.
