Abstract The ground penetrating radar (GPR) system usually uses ultra-broadband short pulse, so the antenna must have a wideband. The bowtie antenna with linear discrete resistor loadings was analyzed in this paper by using the method of moments. The result shows that, with such a loading form, the antenna can get a wideband and the radiated short pulse can have a flat tail. The antenna can therefore be applied to the GPR system.
