Abstract Based on a comprehensive review on the anisotropy of rocks and a study of the physical spatial distribution of different sizes of geological bodies, this paper holds that the heterogeneity of geological bodies is very common. To improve the dependability of geophysical data processing and geological interpretation, we should consider the heterogeneity of geological bodies in geophysical survey.
