Abstract Since the beginning of 1980s, 1:200000 geochemical exploration in Weichang sheet of Hebei Province has experienced three times of prospecting work. Different methods and techniques yielded obviously different results. This paper has made a fairly thorough analysis on the methods and techniques used as well as their effects, and pointed out the importance of researches on methods and techniques in 1:200000 geochemical exploration.
