Abstract Based on the theory of primary halo zoning and taking into account the element associations and the axial zoning of an orebody at different ore forming stages as well as the spatial superimposition, this paper has established a new model for prognosis of blind orebodies?the structural superimposed halo model. This model has been proved to be effective in the prognosis of blind orebodies in certain gold ore districts and their surrounding areas.
