Abstract With the discovery of the Longweigou porphyry copper and gold deposit in Qinghai Province as an example, this paper deals with the application of X fluorescence survey to the anomaly inspection in cold desert areas. It is held that such a technique has bright future in anomaly inspection of cold desert areas and hence deserves popularization in such landscape areas.
