Abstract This paper has summarized characteristics of epigenetic geochemical anomalies in 13 gold and copper anomalous areas within 5 important landscape regions from northeast to southwest China. A comparison of these characteristics has revealed the basic regularity of the distribution of gold and copper in epigenetic media of these regions as well as characteristics of anomaly development. On such a basis, the paper also discusses problems as to what kinds of regional anomaly indicators are affected by these factors and to what extent they are affected.
