Abstract The carbon oxygen (C/O) spectral well logging is one of the useful and powerful tools in evaluating the reservoir properties in casing borehole. A new ratio was provided in this paper to identify the water flooded degree of oil bearing zone, which we called as water indicator ration, in short WIR, this ratio was proved very effective and useful to identify the water flooded degree in oil reservoir.
