Abstract With the development of petroleum exploration and exploitation, people are asked to obtain useful information from large quantities of new and old data as quickly as possible. The data bank technique provides the users with a high-performance storage and management system and safer rapid on-line visit so as to reduce the cost of storage and preservation of data, save the time of searching for data and help geologists to make decision in a better way.It supplies an economical and competitive service. This paper makes a comprehensive review on problems related to data bank technique.
