Abstract Through wavefield transformation and transient electromagnetic field data of stratiform medium model under different conditions,the authors have raised the understanding of the physical significance of wavefield transformation of transient electromagnetic field and summed up some valuable regularities.It is pointed out that the wave field obtained from the mathematic trasformation not only satisfies wave equation in form but also exhibits “propagation” phenomenon in conductive media.In the process of “propagation”,the “reflection” and “transmission”phenomena also exist at the electric interface.These conclusions provide important theoretical grounds for reasonable utilization of the seismic processing and interpretation method.
