Abstract Radon measurement technique is a radiometric geophysical method in search for deep concealed deposits. In the Dafagou deposit of Tianwan, western Sichuan, gold mineralization is strictly controlled by shear zones and diabase dikes, and shear zones are closely associated with diabase dikes.Hence the application of radon measurement method to the search for shear zones and diabase dikes can achieve the aim of indirect prospecting for gold deposits.
