Abstract The Wushan area of Hubei Province is characterized by detailed exploration and insufficient research work.In the light of such a condition, the authors tapped the valuable ore-prospecting informatiuon from the original data, detected composite geological, geophysical and geochemical anomalies through the calculation of information quantity and, using the technique combining points, lines and planes, made anomaly inspection and gold target optimization. As a result, the favorable sector in search for Qingshansi faulted altered rock type gold deposit was discovered.
