Abstract In grophysical logging, the measured parameters generally include resistivity, polarizability, magnetic susceptibility etc. As we know, the few measured parameters will lead to multiplicity of inversion and interpretation. In this paper, a new logging method, namely polarographic logging, is described, which provides a new logging parameter metallic ion concentration of the borehole water. The indoor experiments prove the feasibility and effectivenes of polarographic logging.
