Abstract Based on an investigation of high-precision aeromagnatic data of Guangxi-YunnanGuizhou region and, especially, an analysis of magnetic field characteristics of micro-grained gold districts, the anchors have found that there exist aeromagnetic anomalies in or near most gold districts. Such a phenomenon combined with phwical property data has led to the understanding that magnetic anomalies are mainly reflections of basic rocks, ac hence gold deposits are closely related to basic rocks. Using aeromagotic data together with some other data, one may indirectly delineate target areas for gold deposits.
