in this paper, detailed description is made on gold prospecting with gammaenergy apectral method in such aspects as its geological basis and nuclear geophysical basis,the interpretation and characteristics of gamma spectral anomalies over gold deposits, and thetechniques of this method. Some examples are given illustrating the application of samma energyspectral method to gold prospecting both in China and abroad. Practice has demonstrated that,of all current geophysical gold prospecting methods, the gamma energy spectral method(combinedwith other methods) seems to be the most economical, most effective and most readily popularized method.
