Abstract This paper deals with the necessity and possible prospects of utilizing ratio apparent resistivity and corresponding impedance phase to the performance of composite inversion in the frequency electromagnetic sounding of electric double source, and studies methods for practical application’ Theoretical model and inversion test of observation data show that such composite inversion in feasible and effective, and is obviously superior to single-parameter inversion of apparent resistivity and impedance phase.
