Abstract This paper presents ohe of the borehole 1Pregults gained in the Yangji-shan sulfide type gold deposit on the Middle and 1.oweI Yangtze iron--coppermetallogenic belt. The 1Plogging peIformed at the preliminaIy exploration sta-g9 of the ore distIict not only Pxovided objective and authentic parametersof physical properties(η,ρ)for the inteIpretation of gtound IPanomalies whichtesulted in the l-ationa1 appIaisal of ground IPanomalies, but also discoveredore beds whiC1 had escaped compilation, thus correctly guiding supplementaIyoblique drilling. The surfaop--borehole azimuth survey, in particular, detecteda blind orebody(polarized body)near the borehole, and t11e spatial location,appIoximate depth and attittide of the inferred blind orebody axousing theanomaly are in agreement with the results of drilling. The bore hole inducedpolarization played a satisfactory role in the exploIation of tl1e ore distIictand led us to gain ideal results.
