Abstract This paper is based on the result acquired in 1:50, 000 geochemical stream sediment survey performed in a map area of Guangdong province. The routine sampling has a density of 4-5 samples per kilometers, while for the network of less density, samples are extracted from routine orates at the density of one sample per kilometer. 14 elements have been analysed by the same technique with map compiled to compare the result of these two sorts of network. Although very few single elements might fail to be discovered, the network of less density would not leave mufti-element anomalies undetected. These two densities of network bear resemblence in such aspects as quantities and spatial distribution of individual-elements and ore-prospecting information they provide.
