Abstract With special reference to the kimberlite mining areas in Shantong and Guizhou province, the paper discusses the results of magnetic prospecting for kimberlites. It is noted that magnetism is the most common property inherent in kimberlites, and therefor the magnetic method is a useful tecknique in prospecting for kimberlites. It is also pointed out, howerer, that a simgle magnetic method has limitations in prospecting and the use of a integrated method is inevitable.
