    MAGNETIC EXPLORATION PROBLEMS AND PROSPECT
    Sun Wenke
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1984, 8 (3): 129-133.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (420KB) ( 1000 )

The paper presents a brief overview of magnetic exploration done under the ministry of geology and mineral resources, along with an analysis of the existing problems both in its application and research. It is suggested that magnetic exploration should make its contributions to the investigation of regional geology and geology at depths, as well as to the prospecting and exploration for a wide variety of mineral resouces. Research should also be carried out on the method and tecknique of high precission magnetometry, data processing and interpretation required in accordance with different new tasks, determination of physical propreties, such as remnant magnetism of rocks and ores, piezomagnetism etc, according to the actual geological problems and tecknological capacities.

A DISCUSSI ON MAGNETIC PROSPECTING FOR KIMBERLITES
    Wang Junru
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1984, 8 (3): 134-141.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (609KB) ( 615 )

With special reference to the kimberlite mining areas in Shantong and Guizhou province, the paper discusses the results of magnetic prospecting for kimberlites. It is noted that magnetism is the most common property inherent in kimberlites, and therefor the magnetic method is a useful tecknique in prospecting for kimberlites. It is also pointed out, howerer, that a simgle magnetic method has limitations in prospecting and the use of a integrated method is inevitable.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MAGNETIC PROSPECTING FORPRECIOUS AND BASE METALS IN YUNAN
    Liu Shanyou, Huang Chengyu
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1984, 8 (3): 142-149.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (534KB) ( 490 )

With special refrence to the usefulness of magnetic prospecting tor some deposits of base and precious metals in Yunan province, the well-established contribution of the magnetic exploration to searching for mineral resources related to basic, ultra-basic and medium-acidic rocks, such as copper, molybdenum, nickel, platinum, tin and wolfram is described in this paper. Particularly it is worth while to notice the experience in using magnetic data to plan exploration lines, allowing successful exploration for the main body of BMZmining area. Having analysed the statistical data concerning aeromagnetic anomalies, the author pointed out that even better results could be expected in the further magnetic prospecting for this type of mineral resources.

DOUBLE CHANNEL HYDRIDE ATOMIC FLUORESENCESPECTROMETRY FOR SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATIONOF TRACE ARSENIC AND ANTIMONY INGEOCHEMICAL SAMPLES
Zhang Jinmao, Fan Fan, Guo Xiaowei, Yang Miyun
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1984, 8 (3): 150-161.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (790KB) ( 1099 )

Adouble channel hydride atomic fluoresence spectrometric method for simultaneous determination of trace arsenic and antimony in geochemical samples is described in this paper. In this procedure potassium borohydride is used as reductive agent, and the hydrides of arsenic and antimony produced are then introduced into a electrothermal silica tube "atomizer for determination. The detection limit for arsenic and antimony are 1.4 × 10-9 g and 3.7+10-10g. respectively. The procedure has been applied to analysis of standard-reference samples of stream sediments GSD1-8, developed by the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources for Geochemical survey and DSG Sreference samples for geochemical exploration GXR1-6, and a faily good agreement is bobtained bebween our determinations and the published data. The method is characterized by its simplicity, its speed of determination, as well as its high sensitivity and accuracy.

The result of experiment with method ofpartial metal extraction in several mining areas
    Fei Xiquan
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1984, 8 (3): 162-166.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (314KB) ( 554 )

A new electrochemical method for ore prospecting is presented this paper. It is based on. the electrochemical reaction induced across the interface between the electrodes and earth media. When current is passed between the electrodes, negative ions move towards the anode, while the positive ions,, are migrated and deposited on the cathode, Spectrographic analyses are taken of the electrode extracts, and these analytical data are used to guide ore prospe-The Present paper discusses the method and technique applied, with special reference to the sccessful applications to the prospecting of some.different kinds of ore bodies.

THE DISTRIBUTION OF Im AND Re COMPONENTS OFEDDY CURRENT INDUCED IN TABULARCONDUCTOR BY DIPOLE EM FIELD
    Yan Shu, Zhang Yuqin
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1984, 8 (3): 167-175.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (555KB) ( 512 )

To meet the requirement for qualitative intepretation of low-frequency dipole Im and Re components, the spatial distribution of the secondary Im and Re components caused by a tabular conductor in a dipole EMfield was obtained by modelling. The characteristic distribution of Im and Re components of the eddy current induced in the conductor with respect to the dipole EMfield, and the factors affecting their distribution were also analyzed.

FREQUENCY DQMAIN INDUCED POLARIZATION SURVEYSIN MOUNTAINOUS AREAS OF SI SICHUAN
    Chen Xiquan, Bi Chengzhu
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1984, 8 (3): 176-183.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (554KB) ( 386 )

Frequency domain IPmeasurements were carried out during 1979-1982 over the Xidelake hematite deposit to test the effectiveness of the method, and encouraging results were achieved, Later, it was applied with success in Aqi of Xichang in search for chromites and V-Ti magnetites in basic-ultrabasic rocks in Daxiang-ping, Dechang for copper and magnetite ores in alkaline -ultrabasic rocks and in Huoyaopo of Dechang for, copper and tin ores respectively. As shown from both the test and actual prospecting results that the frequency and timedomain IPmethods are the same in essence by methodology and in result of prospecting. The former, however, can be applied to greater advantage in reconnaissance prospecting over the latter. These merits are particularly valuable and of practical significance in conducting electrical surveys in the mountainous south-west areas of our country. It is therefore a prospecting method with great potential application to intergrated geophysical and geochemical programs in mountainous areas at the present time. This paper presents a summary of the tests carried out in the recent years.
