THE INVERSION OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL MAGNETICBODY BY THE TANGENTIAL METHOD FOR TOTALGRADIENT OF MAGNETIC FIELD
Xu Shizhe, Cai Zhenjing, Ni Yi
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1991, 15 (5): 330-339.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (623KB) ( 603 )

The observed anomaly T is converted into the total gradient anomalywhich we call TT anomaly. The TT anomaly caused by a plate is characterizedby 1) being independent of magnetization direction; 2) having nothing to dowith dip angle of the georuagnetic field; 3) simplicity in shape of curve, i. e.nearly symmetrical; and 4) high lateral discriminability. Making inversion ofTT curve with the tangential method, we evaluated the top depth and magne-tization intensity of the plate. The relationship between the intercept of thetangential method and the top depth of the plate on TT curve is discussed indetail with the error range given. The computation speed of this method is rather high: it takes only 15seconds to invert a profile of 500 points on an AT personal computer.

THE BOREHOLE SONIC PERSPECTIVE SURVEY ANDINTERPRETATION SYSTEM AND ITS EFFECTIVENESSIN DETECTION OF METALLIC ORE DEPOSITS
    Lei Zhenying
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1991, 15 (5): 340-351.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (876KB) ( 399 )

It is for the first time that the borehole sonic perspective method has gain-ed practical effect in prospecting for metallic ore deposits in China. Thispaper describes basic principles of this method, its field observatiou systemaud working method, main characters and technical behaviors of instruments, tomographic imagery processing method for sonic data and software. Acousticproperties of rocks and ores in copper-iron deposits and lead-zinc-silver depo-sits and characteristics of transmission wave anomalous fields of ore bodies arediscussed. Case studies are given concerning the utilization of this method insearching for concealed and deep-seated blind ore deposits, determining locationsand attitudes of ore bodies and delineating ore bodies, and the data obtainedillustrate the effectiveness of this method. During the ore prospecting practicein the Daye copper-iron deposit, in particular, the borehole sonic survey pei-formed in two barren drill holes 180m from each other led to the discovery ofanomalies caused by blind ores beside the drill holes and the subsequent deli-neation of two ore beds. Later, drilling inspection revealed ore beds 39.12 mand 17.77 m iespectively in thickness. The spatial pcsitions of ore bodies rela-tive to the drill holes and their depths and attitudes are all in agreement withwhat was inferred, indicating good results.

    Ren Zhenbo, Cai Bolin
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1991, 15 (5): 352-357.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (601KB) ( 737 )

The apparent resistivity and IP survey of single-hole multi-electrode arrayis a borehole eleotrical method for detecting deep-seated concealed ore depositsin areas of low resistivity and thick overburden. This paper describes its workingtechniques including borehole survey system, survey parameters and basic dia-glams as well as general regulations for interpretation and effects of its initialapplication. This method can be used by field logging parties and groups ac-cording to specific circumstances.

    IP NONLINEAR SPECTRA OF ORES
    Lü Xinyou, Fu Liangkui
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1991, 15 (5): 358-365.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (588KB) ( 460 )

Through experimental study of graphite, coppor and ore specimens fromseveral ore districts in a water tank, the authors systematically observed theirtime spectra and current spectra. The electrode superiority of their time spectraand current spectra divides them ioto two basic types. On the basis of electroche-mical theories, the mechanism responsible for these two basic types are accou-nted for, and it is held that this might hare something to do with solubility ofthe specimens. Under certain conditions, it is possible to distinguish solubility and insolubility of the polarized bodies according to electrode superforities ofthe spectra.

A THEORETICAL APPROACH TO INVLRSION OF MTDATA USING A MEANS ANALOGOUS TO THE REFLECTIONSEISMIC METHOD
    Shen Biao, He Jishan
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1991, 15 (5): 366-373.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (505KB) ( 411 )

This Paper deals with propagation characteristics of the electromagneticwave field in horizontal stratified media in electrical prospecting with anemphasis placed on the analogy in mathematical expression between the pro-pagation of electromagnetic wave and that of seismic wave in such media. Inaddition, the concept of impulse response in reflection seismology is used toconstruct pseudo-impulse function response in electrical prospecting. The con-structed pseudo-impulse response is composed of some discrete impulse func-tions, whose amplitudes are related to reflection and transmission coefficientsof electromagnetic wave at boundaries of various layers. The least squares and tracing of SIRT are used to solve equations in whichthe number of variables is more than the nunmber of equations under the res-traint of the norm. The application of this method to one-dimensional multi-layered conductive model demonstrates the reliability and practicability of the.pseudo-impulse theory.

A REVIEW OF THE SECONDI GENERATION REGIONALGEOCHEMICAL PROSPECTING CONDUCTED BY MGMRIN THE PAST 12 YEARS
    Sun Huanzhen, Zhou Qinglai
    Geophysical and Geochemical Exploration. 1991, 15 (5): 374-384.
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (828KB) ( 464 )

This paper makes a review and summarization of the second generationregional geochemical prospecting work carried out by Mnistry of Geologyand Mineral Resources all over China in the past 12 years with special refere-nce to its ore-prospecting achievements and economic benefits with whichpeople are concerned. For the purpose of better evaluating the state of utili-zatidn of the available regional geochemical data by geological bureaus ofvarious provinces and autonomous regions affiliated to MGMR, the applica-tion of regional geochemical anomaly inspection method as well as the qualityof this work and the further reconnaissance and detailed survey for ore occur-rences discovered by regional geochemical prospecting, this paper, based onthe statistios of various sorts of data provided by all the bureaus, advancesthree evaluation parameters, i. e. sites/10,000 km2, ore-detection percentageand thorough investigation percentage of all deposits. On such a basis, a commentis made on every item of work concerning regional geochemical prospectingconducted by geological bureaus of various provinces and autonomous regions. As for future work, it is pointed out that (1) the most urgent matter at pre-sent is to make full use of the availab1e regional geochemical data; (2) ano-maly appraisal and anomaly inspection, especially the working method andquality of anomaly examination, remain a weak link in the geochemical workof every geological bureau.
