Abstract The authors used the microbial exploration technology to conduct oil and gas exploration on the east wing Taikang uplift Du 20-3 well area of Songliao Basin. With the microbiological anomaly as the basis, in combination with the existing regional geological, drilling and well logging data, and according to the distribution of oil and gas microbiological anomaly, the authors revealed the oil and gas enrichment regularity in the study area, and completed the delineation of the petroleum microbial anomalous zone. Starting with the sedimentary facies, the structure of the reflection layer depth contour, and the abnormal contrast of the adjacent areas, the authors analyzed the area of oil and gas prospect in detail, reached some conclusions and made some suggestions for exploration: the study area has poor oil and gas reserves and is basically an oil abnormal area; the degree of exploration is low in this area, and the comprehensive research should be strengthened so as to determine the oil-bearing series, provide an experimental basis for evaluation of the exploration area and the determination of well locations for drilling employment, and understand the oil and gas enrichment regularity in the whole study area.
