Abstract Based on the data obtained from the scale 1:500 000 geochemical exploration, this paper deals with the laws governing geochemical distribution of metallogenic elements in east Kunlun region, and discusses the key elements related to gold deposits such as Au, Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag, As, Sb and Hg. This paper provided the elements spatial-temporal distribution regularity of dispersion or accumulation based on the geochemical characteristics of the elements so as to lay the geochemical theoretical foundation for the prospecting of regional gold mineralization. The gold target areas for exploration in near future were delineated, which included 3 GradeⅠareas, 6 GradeⅡ areas and 7 Grade Ⅲ areas,on the basis of the two typical gold deposit models for filtering and evaluation by GIS technology.
