Abstract Based on an analysis of the working conditions and surveying characteristics of the audiofrequency magnetotelluric sounding method and the induced polarization method in combination with case studies of water exploration in Baoding, the authors put forward in this paper a technological model which include the combination format, operating principle and data interpretation of the two methods. The model was applied to the practical work, with satisfactory result obtained.
