Abstract Seismic wave field in metallic ore exploration is very complex. Many theoretical and technical problems remain to be solved in the application of traditional seismic technology to tackle the geological problems related to metallic ores exploration. Beginning with an analysis of the complex wave fields in the seismic model experiment, this paper tries to provide some theoretical bases for the seismic method in metallic ore exploration.
