Abstract Usually there are different sorts of noises in the data obtained from base metal seismic exploration. It's one of our main tasks to eliminate noises effectively and improve signal noise ratio in seismic data processing. F-K filtering proves to be an effective tool, which can eliminate such low velocity noise waves as surface wave and sound wave in flat geological structure, but does not fit the steeply dipping interface. Repeated experiments show that the τ-p method is much better than F-K filtering in linear noise suppression.
