Abstract Using the direct inversion formula for one-dimensional D.C.resistivity sounding put forward by the authors in combination with two- dimensional forward solution and asymptotic iterative inversion,this paper has presented a rapid inversion method for two-dimensional D.C.resistivity sounding,which has been proved to be effective in practice.
