Abstract Primary geochemical characteristics of the Dexing copper orefield are studied in this paper. The granodiorite porphyry in this area has the highest copper content, and is intimately associated with anomalies and orebodies. There exist positive correlations between the major metallogenic elements Cu, Mo, Au and Ag. The anomaly assumes pecuiliar concentric zonal form, and is hence of great significance in locating mineralization.
