Abstract Marine seismic acquisition often meets with some transitional zones, which are very complicated and have rapidly changeable water depth that could sometimes reach 300 m in depth;meanwhile, lots of islands and reefs are spread there. It is too risky for the marine steamship to conduct work, and OBC fails to reach the work depth. Therefore, there are some seismic data gaps in these zones. The Z700 ocean bottom node could acquire seismic data from the shallow water up to 700 m in depth and is capable of filling up the data gaps and linking up data obtained form the whole region, thus favorable for the integration of the oilfield exploration.
