Abstract Based on the basic principle of AMT and the given data, the authors has established the coal goaf interpretation criteria for profile analysis. A number of coal goafs in the exploration area were inferred according to the criteria. The verification drilling is designed to validate the dependability. The results show that this method can get fairly satisfactory effects and provide the experience concerning the detection of coal goafs.
