Abstract Electrical imaging survey (EIS) was conducted in a refuse sanitary landfill in Tongzhou District of Beijing. By adopting quasi-Newton inversion algorithm, the authors implemented the inversion of EIS data and obtained the cross-sections of resistivity. Based on the results, the authors infer the filling limits of the refuse sanitary. It is shown that the inferred results are in good agreement with the borehole data.
