Abstract During the geothermal exploration in Longmenxishan of Luoyang and Luoyang basin, such integrated geophysical methods as audio frequency ground electric field ΔU measurement, radiometric α measurement and IP sounding were employed and, as a result, four hot water wells of concealed faulted structure type were successfully determined, in which the highest temperature reached 98.5℃, and the water quantity was as high as 96 m3/h, suggesting the important role of geophysical methods in search for hot water of concealed faulted structure type. The genesis of the high temperature geothermal wells is tentatively discussed in this paper.
