Abstract In regional geochemical exploration, the sampling-point layout map is a necessary component part; nevertheless, artificial coding is not a very easy task. Based on many years' drawing experience, the authors tried to find the characteristics of computer program's automatic processing and to analyze the locations of the sampling points specifically. The generation of large lattice coding map layer according to the necessity is proved to be useful in improving the efficiency and quality of the work.
