Abstract The results of the gravity exploration work are evidently affected by the elevations of the gravitational observation points. In this paper, the GPS height transformation method is proposed on the basis of the accuracy of the EGM2008 model. The feasibility of the transformation method by using leveling data of an area is verified, and it is thus thought that this method is fully applicable to gravity exploration of medium and small scales.
