Abstract In this paper, the metallogenic geological background, ore-controlling factors and characteristics of the typical deposits in the Banpo antimony orefield are summarized, and the rock and fault structures in relation to antimony mineralization as well as the distribution of trace and REE elements in strata are analyzed. In addition, the metallogenic fluid characteristics, the ore genesis, the metallogenic model and the prospecting indicators are discussed.
