Abstract Based on an analysis of the SVD method, the authors advance a filtering method based on singular value decomposition in f-x-y domain. The method is a true three demension. With this technique, it is not necessary to know the dip of the event when the random noise is eliminated. In addition, the amplitude of the event can be preserved. The results of data simulation show that, with its rapid operation time, this method is very effective.
