Abstract According to the theory of dual frequency IPmethod and the technical requirements for the dual frequency IPinstrument, the authors have analyzed the principle of the SQseries dual frequency IPinstrument designed and made by ourselves, and described the hardware, software and specification of this IPinstrument. Its field application shows its high reliability and quality, as evidenced by the satisfactory geological effects achieved.
