Abstract According to the relationship between loess magnetic susceptibility and paleotemperature, this paper has set up a paleotemperature sequence from Proterozoic to Quaternary based on sedimentary susceptibility in Hebei province, in which the apparent temperature is 9℃ in Quaternary, 12℃ in Jurassic, 5℃~7℃ in any other period. Nevertheless, the author consider that the paleotemperature sequence is of low precision, and hence put forward a method for reconstructing a high accuracy paleotemperature sequence from Proterozoic up till now.
