Abstract The Pseudo Vertical Seismic Profiling, somewhat similar to vertical seismic profiling, was successfully applied in detecting the loosened zone of quarry wall. The seismic transmission wave tomography was used to process the data. The basic theory, data acquisition and processing as well as case history are dealt with in this paper.
