Abstract The authors have reviewed soil geochemical characteristics and fertilization related to tobacco growth and its quality in the paper. Based on the systematic geochemical investigation on rocks, soils and tobacco leaves, the provision level of nutritive elements for tobacco growth was roughly assessed. And the relationships between tobacco quality and bedrock and soil geochemical characteristics were indicated.
