Abstract Precipitation is one of the important factors affecting the result of soil gas mercurometric survey.Heavy rain or saturating rain would lead to drastic decrease of mercury content in soil gas or even to the disappearance of anomalies. In contrast, when the amount of precipitation is relatively small, the mercury conent of soil gas may sometimes show obvious enrichment.
