Abstract In using the long measurement range gravimeter,we should use sectional scales to arrange gravity data when the relative variations of the sectional standardized scales are larger than 1/1 400.For the purpose of raising the quality of gravity data arrangement, this paper summarizes some circumstances which may occur in using sectional scales of the gravimeter to calculate gravity values of the observation point when the gravity observation values lie in different measurement range sections.
