Abstract A new IP data acquistion technique is recommended in this paper,which is chafacterized by the simultaneous acquisition of the information about the attenuation of the polarized 2nd-degree field with time and the variation of this field with depth through one measurement operation. In addition, the paper deals with the instrumental working principle for carrying out this acquisition method and some technological problems which are likely to occur in the process of measurement.
